  • Com Açúcar Com Afeto is a replica of a 1970s cookbook handwritten in brazilian portuguese by the culinary teacher Alice Sodré (and her students).

The book is funny, with comments and clippings. Several recipes in it use "claybom", others are unusual, such as candied fruit farofa. It's a trip back in time, and even if the recipes aren't taken literally, they are a legacy and an inspiration.

Alice Sodré, today, would be considered an entrepreneur. But in the 1970s, she didn't claim to own a bakery, she claimed to be a widow who "made cakes for outside". When she wanted to work less, she raised the price, which had the reverse effect—her work became even more valued and coveted.

Alice's book, also known as "vovó licinha", was digitized and formatted by her great-granddaughter, and is dedicated to all Brazilian great-grandmothers.
